New River Marine - Graving Dock - Refit - Fort Lauderdale Boatyard
In need of a Graving dock for a yacht refit?
Marina Mile Yachting Center (MMYC) is located in the heart of the famous “Marina Mile,” the largest concentration of boatyards in South Florida. At the intersection of the New River and I-95 & I-595, and in the Northeast corner of the beautiful , gated residential community of “The Falls at Marina Bay.” Marina Mile Yachting Center is one of the oldest boatyards in Fort Lauderdale. Originally built in the late 1960s, just prior to the initial development of “Marina Bay”, and formerly known as “Marina 84,” “Infinity Yachts” and “New River Dry Dock.” Marina Mile Yachting Center was purchased in June 2007, by an experienced Marina and Real Estate Partnership, which has invested well over $15 MM to date in this strategically-located 6 acre facility. The new ownership group is well-funded, the Marine property is debt-free, and a substantial “capital budget” has been allocated for future improvements. Marina Mile Yachting Center boasts Florida’s only “Graving Dock,” which is well-known and very popular with captains, Marine project managers, and owners as “THE” facility for major marine refits for vessels up to 145 feet in length, 27+ feet in beam, and unlimited displacement. The Graving Dock has recently undergone a renovation, and has a newly covered canopy, that allows for vessels with a 42 foot “air draft.” There is a 70-ton Marine Travelift, and over 700 linear feet of space on the Uplands to perform work on yachts or boats up to 80 feet. The protected 3 acre basin (a favorite “Hurricane Hole” for many years), has over 1,500 linear feet of space for vessels up to 150 feet and 10 feet of draft, and abundant marine electrical service (110V & 240 - single phase, and 208 V & 480 V three-phase power). There are both fixed and floating docks, and plans are underway to expand the dockage around the basin by almost 1,000 feet. AND...you can drive right up to the docks! Captains are free to manage their own projects and select their favorite marine contractors, subject to shipyard policies such as insurance, etc. Captains also benefit from the onsite consultation and a very friendly atmosphere.
